Seeking van drivers to transport students to and from school using the school vans. The position will be approximately 2 hours in the morning (before school) and 2 hours in the afternoon (after school).
Minimum Requirements
- Must be minimum 23 years old.
- Three years driving experience in a vehicle other than a motorcycle.
- Current valid Arizona Driver’s License
- Valid Identity Verified Print (IVP) Clearance Card
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Speak, read, and write in English.
Essential Functions
The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.
- Ensures children are transported to and from school, athletic events, field trips, and other school or District activities. Ensures all students are seated properly and seat belts are used.
- Determines if parent or guardian of children who must be met are at the destination point. Ensure students are delivered to proper drop-off points.
- Completes the van safety check off list (pre-trip inspection) before driving van, to ensure van is in proper working condition. Report repairs needed and add fluids as needed such as gas, oil, and water. Maintains daily log of van inspections.
- Cleans and sweeps the inside of van to include floor, seats and side, front and rear windows as requested.
- Washes the exterior of the bus as requested.
- Fuels van weekly.
- Transports children to and from school according to established schedule and route as assigned.
- Maintains discipline and order of children and other passengers while on the bus. Prepares student conduct reports as needed.
- Monitor the activities of Transportation (Van) Monitors as they relate to their work with students and the public as applicable.
- Operates a two-way radio to maintain contact with the dispatcher.
- Maintains logs of daily mileage to include regular routes and extra duty activity routes.
- Attends mandatory staff in-service training and training meetings.
- Maintain the highest level of professionalism.

- Work involves the performances of duties where considerable physical exertion is required as a normal part of the job.
- Assistance is normally available to perform unusually physically demanding tasks.
- Climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time may be required as a normal part of the job.
- Employees must not have any limitations of motion, vision and hearing, as these senses should be rated as acceptable to obtain the required driver’s license.
- Verbal communicative ability may be required of public contact positions.
